Because of the requirements of the hospitality industry I was a night owl until about age 50; now I am usually awake between 4 and 6 a.m., so there are not many late nights.What do very few people know about you?I love to cook with wineand sometimes I put it in the food. I ride a Harley, but not often enough. I restored my dads Mustang he bought new on April 17, 1964. Boating is my Jimi Thingmy playlist is about 98 percent Dave Matthews (IFKYK). Also, I had an excessive amount of curly hair in high school!Favorite other club destinations in the U.S. and why?Honestly, I dont get out much. I always feel guilty asking peers for favors like playing their courses or dining at their clubs. But two that come to mind are working at Augusta National for The Masters to help with the UNL hotel, restaurant, travel and tourism interns who work the tournament. I worked in will call ticketing, so I got to see the back-of-house operations, and Jim James, senior director, Club and Hospitality Operations (a Nebraska native), gave me a tour of the main clubhouse. Hardly anyone gets in there during the tournament. And then there is Cherokee Town and Country Club in Atlantawoweverything about it is amazingwhat a wine cellar!What are the most important ingredients for remaining a dynamic country club?Great people make great places!As it relates to building and sustaining CCLs membership culture, what are the non-negotiables for you?Decorum and respect for everyone in the Club community: members, guests, and the team.Think Mack Truck Theory: what leadership essentials are you working hard to pass on to your executive team?Lead by example. Get better every day. Do the right thing, even when no one is watching. Keep in mind that calm is contagious.What do you hope members never take for granted about CCL?The team.
